I miscalculated my fortitude. I can’t read any more proof. I sent this batch to Howells without glancing at it—except to note that I am that proof reader had left it to me to marked turned letters under cuts! Howells will maybe return it to you to be read—in which case you may send it to me again, & I will get my profanity together & tackle it.
